China Cafe Reviews

Love this little place. They're always nice and make sure to provide a good service. Even insisted I leave with food when I went in after hours. Always good to support places like this!

Definitely a hole in the wall. First time getting something from here. we have lived in Haysville for 14 years and just now got around to it. the owners are very friendly. The prices are reasonable. The portions are rather Large! The food is very fresh and tasty! we would definitely recommend this restaurant!!!!

THE KILLER fried rice, and dumplings! The special fried rice is just epic awesome, with pork, chicken, and shrimp in one (plentiful) dish. The dumplings are perfect, and come with the best sauce I've ever had with dumplings, hands down!

Love this place and love frank and his wife ! They've had a restaurant in Haysville for at least over 35 years

This isn't a candle light romantic dinner kind of Chinese joint. This is a Chinese restaurant like the ones I went to growing up in the 70's and 80's. The food is great, a little greasy, and they deliver on orders over $15. I always get take out or delivery. I'm not sure why I ever ate at the other place in Haysville. They used to have an amazing lunch special, but I haven't got it in awhile.

This place may be hidden, small, a little old and shabby, but the food here is cooked fresh and delicious. They even deliver after 5pm! If you're in Haysville, give this place a try.
China Cafe
Looking for a cozy spot in Haysville to enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine? China Cafe at 125 Anita Dr, Haysville, KS 67060 serves up flavorful dishes in a laid-back, family-friendly setting.
China Cafe Haysville – Where Local Flavor Meets Traditional Chinese Cooking
Nestled right off the main road in Haysville, China Cafe has quietly built a reputation among locals for being that go-to spot when cravings hit for fried rice, lo mein, or a piping hot bowl of wonton soup. Whether you’re swinging by for lunch or sitting down for dinner, there’s always that comforting aroma of soy sauce, ginger, and garlic wafting from the kitchen—something that feels instantly familiar.
Step inside and you’re greeted with a warm, no-frills atmosphere. It’s not trying to be flashy; it just focuses on good food and friendly service. From my own visits, I can tell you the orange chicken comes out crispy and coated in that just-right sticky-sweet sauce, while the beef with broccoli tastes fresh and satisfying without being greasy. They don’t overdo it on the salt, and the vegetables actually have color and crunch. That’s not something you find everywhere.
This spot’s especially popular among families and working folks around town. Some grab takeout on their way home, others hang around in the dining area to chat over egg rolls and hot tea. And the portions? Generous. I’ve seen people leave with leftovers more often than not.
What Makes the Menu at China Cafe Stand Out?
China Cafe’s menu isn’t overwhelming, but it covers all the essentials. Think General Tso’s chicken, Kung Pao shrimp, sweet and sour pork, and of course, a few solid vegetarian options like stir-fried tofu and mixed veggies. But what makes it work is consistency. They’ve nailed those classic American-Chinese dishes we all grew up loving—nothing fancy, just well-executed.
Prices are more than reasonable, especially when you see how much food you get. You can eat comfortably without your wallet taking a hit. And if you’re unsure what to try, the friendly staff are more than willing to point you in the right direction. More than once, I’ve been steered toward something off the regular menu—house specials that don’t always get top billing but absolutely deliver on flavor.
Local Vibes, Real Reviews, and a Community Favorite
Talk to folks around Haysville, and you’ll hear the same thing: China Cafe is reliable. Online reviews echo that too. People mention the speed of service, the consistency in flavor, and how it always feels like a hometown favorite rather than a chain restaurant. That kind of word-of-mouth buzz is earned, not bought.
While some might expect fancy decor or trendy fusion plates, what you get here is straightforward quality. This place knows its audience. It’s the kind of diner where the staff remembers your order if you come often enough. One customer told me they’ve been ordering the same shrimp fried rice for ten years—and it still tastes the same, in the best way possible.
Comfort Food With a Hometown Heart
China Cafe isn't just a restaurant—it's part of the daily rhythm in this part of Kansas. You see high school students grabbing a quick bite after practice, grandparents treating the grandkids to lunch, and young couples sharing a plate of sesame chicken. That kind of cross-generational appeal is rare.
Even the location itself feels accessible. Just minutes from central Haysville, the diner is tucked into a modest strip, easy to find, and even easier to get into, whether you’re dining in or picking up to-go. Parking’s never a hassle, which is a plus for anyone who’s just looking for a stress-free meal.
If you're passing through or just haven’t tried it yet, China Cafe is one of those places that quietly wins you over. You come for the affordable menu, stay for the friendly faces, and end up coming back again—just like the locals do.
Great food. Mom and Pop business, not very big place. Bring cash. They don't take cards.
